SV Deutschlandsberg has secured the autumn championship of the Regionalliga Southwest Styria following a decisive 4-1 away victory against Kalsdorf. The result places the team atop the standings ahead of the winter break, with the league set to transition into a playoff phase involving teams from Carinthia.
The victory concludes the regular season phase after 14 matches. The league, which is restricted to the Styrian region, will now pause before resuming in the new year for the playoffs. In this second phase, all participating clubs will restart with zero points. Only results from the lower playoff round are carried forward, where Hartberg Amateure, Tillmitsch, Gleisdorf, and Allerheiligen compete to avoid relegation.
The weakest Styrian club in that lower tier will be relegated to the Landesliga regardless of their final standing. Meanwhile, the race for promotion to the 2. Liga has effectively concluded. With the exception of Austria Klagenfurt, no club from the upper playoff bracket has completed the necessary licensing workshop requirements.
On the final matchday, Deutschlandsberg clinched the title through its own efforts. Marco Fuchshofer scored in the seventh and 88th minutes, Marco Reiterer opened the scoring in the 13th minute, and Christian Degen added the final goal in the 62nd minute.
Sporting director Andreas Kohlberger praised the team's discipline and improvement throughout the season. "From the start of the season until now, we have worked very disciplinedly, the team has improved week by week," Kohlberger said. "The victory against Kalsdorf was the crowning achievement. The players and the coach have all earned it."
Other notable results included Weiz, which missed the top spot despite a 1-0 derby win over Gleisdorf thanks to Robert Schmerleib's 69th-minute goal. Trainer Maurice Amtmann's side finished the autumn phase with only two losses. Lafnitz secured third place after a 5-2 victory against Allerheiligen.
In the Landesliga, the battle for the autumn title continues today with a top-of-the-table clash between Ilz and Rohrbach at 16:00. Wildon missed an opportunity to lead the table after a 1-1 draw with Kindberg. DSV Leoben also faced setbacks; a 3-0 forfeit loss against Kindberg due to a substitution error was followed by a failure to secure a win against Fehring, despite Toni Milat's 89th-minute consolation goal.
